Job Shop Australia: Write a resume
What is a Resume?
Resume also known as Curriculum Vitae (or CV for short) literally means your autobiography. It makes the first impression. It is your reflection for those who read it. So it's up to you how best you can present it. The reason being, employers receive loads of resumes after advertising for their current job vacancies and they have comparatively less time to go through a Resume. Hence, you have to take a little more effort to make your resume that extra special.
For Those with Considerable Experience
How do I start?
To start with, make sure your Resume states all your personal information like your full name, date of birth, your place of residence and your correct contact details. You can also mention your objective. An objective is basically a short statement stating your aim in life.
Then you can mention your educational qualifications, starting with the recent one. You can also talk about the subjects you specialized in and the grades you got. Mention any awards and prizes.
Mention your previous job experiences, again starting with the recent one highlighting all the positive aspects like your achievements, targets met and how your previous employers benefited by employing you. Try and give full detail of your previous jobs, specifically mentioning your skills.
Then.
You can even mention your hobbies and your extra - curricular activities, anything you enjoy doing besides your professional expertise. So that the employer knows you are not just a workaholic but also a fun - loving person and believes in 'Work Hard, Party Harder.'
Last but not the Least..
It helps in giving references. It is always preferable to give your previous employer's reference. In addition to that you can give a personal and an academic reference. People usually give 2 - 3 references.

For Those just Graduating
It is always advisable to start looking for a job before you graduate. In this way, when you complete your graduation you may also land up a job at the same time.
You also will follow the same tips provided above minus your previous experience, unless you have worked part time while completing your graduation. Then just follow the same procedure as mentioned above.
